This is a security feature to ensure that you really do own the sender email address, plus it provides another layer of confirmation that allows you to confirm the files to be sent. Should you not proceed with releasing the files, they will automatically be removed after 48 hours.
You can send a maximum of 3 files at a time.
Files are kept on the system for a maximum of 48 hours after which they will be removed by the system. Your recipients must therefore download the files within 48 hours.
You can send files to a maximum of 10 recipients at a time.
When you send files to recipients you specify how recipients should be authenticated. This would include one of the following methods:
Note that that in call cases recipients will be required to enter at least their email address before downloading files. This is a security feature to ensure that the download email is not mass distributed for download.
When sending files to recipients, you can optionally type a message to those recipients. The message will be included in the email that is sent out to recipients. Once a recipient completes the download, a message may be entered at the point where the recipient confirms that the files have been successfully downloaded. As the sender, you will receive that message via a notification email.
Go to the FileChimp Home page and click the [Start] button. You will automatically be transferred to the Send Files page from where you can send your files:
At this point you will receive an email with a link to click to release the files to the senders. Once you have done this the recipients will receive emails with instructions and a link to download the files. Once the recipients click the download link they will be required to enter their email address before they can download the files.
If you had specified a password to protect the files then the recipients would have to enter that password as well before gaining access to downloading the files. The password would optionally have been sent to the recipients in a separate email or you would have communicated the password directly to them.
Once the recipients have successfully downloaded all the files, they can optionally type a return message to the sender and complete the process by tapping the 'I have downloaded all the files' button. The sender will receive an email confirmation that the recipient has completed the download.
The recipient download page provides a facility for recipients to enter an option message to you as well as confirming that they have completed the download. Once a recipient has completed this, you will receive a notification email from FileChimp to inform you that the recipient has completed it.
Recipients must explicitly click the [I have completed all downloads] button on the "Download your FIles" page to activate the notification email to be sent to the sender.

Our team have significant experience in building software in the banking, insurance and health sectors and have worked in some of those sectors themselves, in both senior management and technical roles, so we have a deep understanding of information security and have applied those same robust enterprise level practises in building and managing FileChimp.
All data is stored encrypted at rest and transferred over SSL.
If you find a vulnerability in our system, please do not exploit it and please do report it to us on our Contact page so that we may address it as soon as possible. We must all work together to create a safer internet environment.
Note however that FileChimp is a moderately secure system, provided that you password protect any files with a complex password and take extra care in communicating the passwords to recipients. If you require more security, including 2-factor authentication, audit trailing, longer access to files, etc. please consider FileBus.
FileChimp is best suited to users that want to send files to specific nominated recipients, and is not the best solution under the following types of scenarios:
Please check your spam folder and also add firstname.lastname@example.org as a contact into your email client application and also add the filechimp.io domain to your safe sender list.
